Forensic Audio Services

Choose the service based on the technical question that needs to be answered
This page is the service selector for forensic audio services on audioforensicexpert.eu. Each service addresses a different technical question, and the detailed methods, limitations and case examples remain on the dedicated specialist page rather than being repeated here.
If the issue is not yet clearly defined, a preliminary review can identify the most appropriate examination without assuming that every recording requires the same tests.
Work is carried out by Roberto Ruggeri, forensic audio specialist, with remote handling available for international and cross-border digital-file matters outside Italy.

Which Forensic Audio Service Fits the Main Question?

| Main technical question | Relevant service | Different from |
|---|---|---|
| Does the file contain signs of cuts, splices, re-encoding or other post-recording changes? | Audio Authentication | Speaker attribution or synthetic-speech detection |
| Can a questioned voice be meaningfully compared with one or more reference voices? | Forensic Voice Comparison | File-integrity examination or simple perceptual similarity |
| Can existing speech be made more audible or intelligible despite noise, distance or interference? | Forensic Audio Restoration | Reconstructing speech that was never recorded |
| Could the vocal content be synthetic, cloned, converted or otherwise AI-generated? | Deepfake Audio Analysis | General editing or ordinary file authentication |
| Does a legal or investigative team need report review, technical framing or independent specialist support? | Legal Audio Consulting | The specialist examination required by a specific audio question |
The table identifies the primary route. One matter can involve more than one question, but the findings should remain separated because file integrity, speaker comparison, intelligibility, synthetic-speech assessment and legal technical support do not answer the same thing.
When a Recording Raises More Than One Question
A recording can be continuous at file level and still contain synthetic speech generated before export. A voice can be suitable for comparison even when the file has undergone a documented conversion. A processed listening copy can improve audibility while remaining distinct from the material used for other measurements.
The preliminary review is therefore used to identify the principal question, determine whether another examination is genuinely relevant and keep the scope of each service separate. It is not a generic package in which every available technique is applied automatically.
